Therapy for People Who've Spent Years Taking Care of Everyone But Themselves
Seth Jenkins, LPC. Therapy for people-pleasing, losing yourself in everyone else's needs, and the quiet sense that you've never quite been good enough. I believe you are worthy.
Who I Work With
If any of these describe where you are right now, we should talk.
You've Never Felt Good Enough
You can't always say why, but you've never quite believed you're good enough. It shows up as second-guessing, over-apologizing, and letting other people set the terms. We work on where that started.
You Lose Yourself in Relationships
You've spent years managing everyone else's feelings and lost track of your own, and saying no feels impossible. Sometimes it follows a controlling relationship that left you doubting yourself. We work on getting you back.
Grief & a Life That Changed
A death, a divorce, an ending that reshaped your life. Not a crisis, but a loss that takes more than time to move through. We do that work together.
About the Practice
Who you work with matters more than the method.
The work I do most is relational. It centers on people-pleasing and codependency, the loss of self that comes from living for everyone else, and the low self-worth underneath it. You are the expert on yourself. My job is to be a mirror, and to draw out what is already there.
Addiction work sits inside my counseling license, so it is fully part of what we can do together. I also hold the LIAC (Licensed Independent Addiction Counselor) credential in Arizona, which marks it as a particular specialty of mine, and one I have a significant amount of experience with. I can work with addiction directly, with anyone struggling with any form of addictive behavior. That includes substances, and it can include other behaviors too. And if you have lived with someone who struggles this way, I am eager to help you as well. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, sex-positive, and kink-allied.
Sessions here are practical. We set goals, try things between sessions, and track whether they are moving. The aim is always for you to leave with what you came for and carry it on your own.

Getting Started
Three steps from here to your first session.
Free 15-Minute Consultation
We talk. You ask what you need to ask. I tell you whether I'm the right fit for what you're dealing with. No obligation, no intake forms before we've spoken.
Schedule Your First Session
If it's a good fit, we get you scheduled and sort out insurance.
Real Progress. Not Open-Ended.
We work toward something specific and check whether it's moving. If it isn't, we talk about why. Some people work with me for a few months, others for a year or more, depending on what they came for.
Insurance & Fees
Your insurance may cover this.
In-network with three major insurers in Arizona. If you have one of these, your out-of-pocket cost is likely lower than the self-pay rate. I keep my rate where it is on purpose. Therapy should be accessible to all, not a luxury good.
Out-of-pocket rate: $125/session. Free 15-minute consultation before committing to anything.

A few things people usually ask.
Is what I'm dealing with big enough for therapy?
You don't need a crisis to qualify. If you have spent years deciding that your own needs come last, that habit is worth looking at on its own. Bring it to the consult and we will work out together whether now is the right time.
What does a session actually look like?
Secure video. You click a link and we talk for 50 minutes, on a laptop, phone, or tablet. All you need is a private space and a stable connection.
What does this cost, and will insurance cover it?
Self-pay is $125 a session, deliberately at the lower end for this level of experience. In Arizona I am in-network with Aetna, Cigna, and Optum. In Michigan, in-network options are being confirmed. In South Dakota, with Cigna and Aetna. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill, which is an itemized receipt you send to your own insurer. Many plans reimburse part of the fee, and how much depends on your plan.
I've tried therapy before and it didn't do much. Why would this be different?
The effectiveness of therapy is determined in large part by the rapport you have with your therapist. I recognize that many people who seek therapy have some therapy experience. Some of that experience may have been bad; whether due to the fit between you and the therapist or due to issues of competence on the part of the therapist. No therapist is going to be a good fit for everybody. What I can tell you is that I work on something specific rather than open-ended, and we check whether it is moving. The consult exists partly for this. Ask me directly what I would do with what you are carrying, before you commit to anything.
Whenever you're ready.
Fifteen minutes, no cost, and no paperwork before we've talked. You find out whether this is a fit, and I listen for whether I'm the right person to help. If you are reaching out at all, change is already possible.
